A Comparison of the Pathological Effects of 2-Acetylamino

The aromatic amines 92-acetylaminofluorene (92-AAF) and two compounds structurally related to it (4-acetylaminobiphenyl [4-AAB] and 92-ace tylaminobiphenyl [92-AABJ) have induced cancer in the rat, 92-AAF and 4-AAB being particularly effective in this regard (15—17). Several aromatic amines (Table 4) have been reported to induce tumors in dogs, but of the three mentioned above only 92-AM? has been previously administered to this species. In this experiment, 92-AM' was used to confirm previous findings (1, 18) and to determine whether any differences were produced by feeding the amine at a different dose level from that previously used.
